It is the most complex question of all! The question has been lingering from the very moment of creation. How did this Creation come to be? How was the Universe created? Many civilizations have searched for answers to these questions. Our search for these answers from the Veda, the traditional Indian source of Knowledge and from the portals of modern science leads us to an amazing convergence in thoughts. While modern research is still grappling with what happened soon after Big Bang, the starting point for Creation, we find the ancient Indian texts describing stages Before Creation, which lead to a Big Bang called Brahmanda Visfotak. In this work, we journey to the very depths of the knowledge of Creation from our ancients, to see how Creation comes to be.

Very nicely explained with colored Illustrations.
Very Basic, State-the-Quote kind of Book. Will be interesting for very beginners!

A short and interesting read on the event of cosmological creation, drawing parallels between scientific theories and Indian classical literatures like Veda & Puranas.

The author starts with the stories of creation from other civilisations like Assyrian, Egyptian and Sumer. And thats where they end. He goes on to explain how the ancient seers, the Rishis, had explained the process of creation and how that is now validated by science. Also, he states that the Rishis had explained what existed before the Big Bang and the processes inside the fire ball containing the universe to come.

The book has linked what the Vedas foretold very well with modern science. His effort is well backed up by a scientist who works at CERN on the LHC project. But he fails to elaborate on the processes that occurred before, during and after the Big Bang, at least from the perspective of Vedas and Puranas. Also, he gets often repetitive on many occasions stretching the short read long. The references are restricted to names, like so and so concept was explained in so and so Purana but no chapter or verse numbers or how he interprets them. At some points though he did add some script in Sanskrit but for people looking for direction in this topic it doesn't help much.

Having said that, this book isn't bad read. It does touch some interesting points and good start for someone who wants to get a taste of what our ancient scientific culture. But it would be good he could elaborate on the processes and add some detailed references.

A superb way to reality of creation. Every scientist should also read it. It simply tells how advanced were the minds of vedic times.
A very erudite, systematic, scientific explanation and take…

A very erudite, systematic, scientific explanation and take on the mystery of evolution of the universe as mentioned in the ancient Indian scriptures. Language is simple and lucid and the pictures help the understanding as well.
I thought I will try this one 1st as it will be like an introduction to the mighty Puranas and Vedas

I always had an urge to read the Puranas and the Vedas as it is a truth that Vedas and Puranas explained in detail about the creation of our Universe. However I am yet to. I thought I will try this one first as it will be like an introduction to the mighty Puranas and Vedas. The book is good and explains well. However I feel the explanations could have been deeper and easier for a layman to understand to the core. It is good but I felt few things could have been explained in a better way. Overall good read.
